Holiday Spice Squares (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup melted butter, unsalted.
02 - 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar, light variety.
03 - 2 large eggs, brought to room temp.
04 - 2 tablespoons dark molasses.
05 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
06 - 2 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose type.
07 - 1 tablespoon ginger powder, ground.
08 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
09 - 1 teaspoon powder for baking.
10 - 1/2 teaspoon salt, kosher variety.
11 - Powdered sugar for sprinkling on top.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F. Get a 9x9 pan ready with parchment paper lining.
02 - Stir together the melted butter with brown sugar, then add eggs, molasses and vanilla until smooth.
03 - In another bowl, blend flour, your spices, baking powder and salt.
04 - Slowly add dry mix into wet ingredients, stirring until everything's well combined.
05 - Pour batter into pan and cook for 30-35 mins until the edges firm up and middle stops wobbling.
06 - Let it cool all the way down before adding a light dusting of powdered sugar and cutting into squares.

# Notes:

01 - Works in a 9x13 pan too, just change your baking time.
02 - Watch carefully so you don't cook them too long.
03 - They'll fall apart if you cut them while still warm.
