Gnocchi Sausage Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main & Pasta

01 - Store-bought or frozen potato gnocchi, 1 pound (450g) - both types work great
02 - Ground Italian sausage without casings, 1 pound (450g) - totally up to you but makes it taste fantastic

→ Creamy Mix

03 - Any marinara sauce you like, 1 cup (240ml)
04 - Thick heavy cream, 1 cup (240ml)

→ Dairy Topping

05 - Mozzarella cheese, shredded, 2 cups (200g) - you'll love how stretchy it gets!
06 - Parmesan cheese, freshly grated, 1/2 cup (50g)

→ Tasty Add-ins

07 - Juicy cherry tomatoes, cut in half, 1 cup (150g)
08 - Baby spinach leaves, 2 cups (60g)
09 - Minced garlic, 3 cloves
10 - Oregano (dried), 1 teaspoon
11 - Torn fresh basil, 1/4 cup (10g)
12 - Premium olive oil, 2 tablespoons
13 - Salt and black pepper to your liking

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Frozen gnocchi needs a quick boil first as per package directions, but the shelf-stable kind is ready straight away!
02 - Heat olive oil in an oven-safe pan. Cook the garlic until it smells good and turns golden (just a minute). For those using sausage, brown it now and put it aside for later use.
03 - Using that same pan, stir together your marinara with the heavy cream. Sprinkle in the oregano and watch your kitchen fill with wonderful smells!
04 - Here comes the best part! Start with a spoonful of sauce on the bottom, then add some gnocchi, a handful of spinach, a bunch of tomato halves, your browned sausage, and plenty of both cheeses. Keep stacking until everything's used up or your pan's full. Top it all with a thick layer of your cheeses.
05 - Bake for 20-25 minutes until everything bubbles and turns golden brown. Want a crispier top? Broil it for 2-3 minutes. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes (so hard to wait!), then scatter basil on top before you dig in.

# Notes:

01 - You can leave out the sausage if you want a meat-free option - it's still super tasty!
02 - This meal warms up really well the next day, if you don't finish it all
03 - Don't skip the cooling time - it really helps everything set up just right
