Baked French Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 ounces French bread (half loaf), cut into chunks.
02 - 1/2 cup butter.
03 - 1 cup packed brown sugar.
04 - 6 large eggs.
05 - 2 cups milk.
06 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
07 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon, split.
08 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar for the top.
09 - Optional dusting of powdered sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm oven to 425°F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
02 - Combine butter and brown sugar in a pot until blended. Spread across baking dish bottom.
03 - Arrange bread chunks evenly over the sugar mixture.
04 - Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together. Pour over bread so all pieces get soaked.
05 - Dust with leftover cinnamon and brown sugar.
06 - Bake for 25-30 minutes until top turns golden. Add powdered sugar on top if you want.

# Notes:

01 - Works better with slightly stale bread.
02 - You can make it ahead and keep in fridge overnight.
03 - Pop leftovers in freezer for up to 3 months.
