Flaky Chicken Veggie Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 tbsp salted butter.
02 - 1 regular onion, chopped.
03 - 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped.
04 - 6 tbsp plain flour.
05 - 2 cups chicken stock.
06 - 1 cup milk.
07 - 1 tsp garlic powder.
08 - 1 tsp onion powder.
09 - 1/2 tsp salt.
10 - 1/4 tsp ground black pepper.
11 - 1/4 tsp dried thyme.
12 - 15 oz frozen carrots and peas.
13 - 2 cups shredded cooked chicken.
14 - 1 thawed sheet of frozen puff pastry.
15 - 1 big egg mixed with 1 tbsp water.
16 - Fresh parsley to sprinkle on top.

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 400°F.
02 - Melt the butter, toss in onions for 2 minutes, then throw in garlic for another 30 seconds.
03 - Mix in flour and stir for 30 seconds.
04 - Pour in stock and milk bit by bit while stirring. Let it bubble for 2 minutes.
05 - Toss in all your spices, then mix in veggies and chicken.
06 - Empty mixture into 8x8 baking dish, lay pastry on top, make some cuts.
07 - Coat with egg mix, pop in oven for 25-30 minutes until it turns golden.

01 - Ready-made puff pastry saves you tons of time.
02 - You can make the filling earlier in the day.
03 - Always cut slits in the top so steam can escape.
