Dark Chocolate Strawberry Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - Soft room temp butter, 1/2 cup (one stick)
02 - Packed light brown sugar, 1 cup
03 - Regular white sugar, 2 tablespoons
04 - Room temp egg, 1
05 - Pure vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon

→ Flour Mixture

06 - Regular flour, 1 3/4 cups (8 oz)
07 - Baking soda, 3/4 teaspoon
08 - Table salt, 1/2 teaspoon

→ Flavor Add-ins

09 - Lightly smashed freeze-dried strawberries, 1 cup
10 - Chopped dark chocolate, 8 oz
11 - Chocolate melting discs for coating and finishing

# Instructions:

01 - Mix your soft butter with both sugars until fluffy and light. Stop and clean the sides of your bowl, then throw in the egg and vanilla and keep mixing till they're blended in. Scrape down everything once more with your spatula.
02 - In another bowl, stir together your flour, baking soda, and salt. Turn your mixer to low and slowly add this flour mix to your butter mixture. Don't overmix - just blend till combined. Carefully fold in your smashed strawberries and chocolate chunks.
03 - Plop spoonfuls of the dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment. A cookie scoop makes this easy if you've got one. Lightly push down on each mound to flatten them a bit.
04 - Pop them in a 350°F oven for 11-14 minutes until the edges turn slightly golden and middles look barely set. Let them sit on the hot pan for 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.
05 - After they've cooled completely, dunk the bottom of each cookie in melted chocolate, wiping off extra. Then drizzle more melted chocolate across the tops using a small bag with the corner snipped off. Wait for the chocolate to harden before you eat them.

# Notes:

01 - Using ingredients at room temp makes your cookies turn out better
02 - Your cookies will firm up as they cool down
03 - Make sure chocolate hardens fully before you stack them
