Crispy Air Onion (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Blooming Onion

01 - 1 big Vidalia (sweet) onion
02 - 1 tsp garlic powder
03 - 1 tsp salt
04 - 1 tsp onion powder
05 - 1 tsp paprika
06 - ½ tsp black pepper
07 - 1 cup plain flour
08 - 2 eggs, large
09 - 1 tbsp hot sauce
10 - ½ cup tangy buttermilk
11 - Olive oil spray bottle

→ Dipping Sauce

12 - ½ cup creamy mayo
13 - 1 tbsp melted butter
14 - ¼ cup sweet ketchup
15 - 1 tbsp mirin or just water
16 - ¼ tsp onion powder
17 - ¼ tsp garlic powder

# Instructions:

01 - Slice it into 8-12 sections but stop before cutting through the base. Fan the slices apart gently to give it that flower shape.
02 - Cover it in flour mix, dip in egg and buttermilk, then flour it again.
03 - Spray with oil and air fry at 375°F for about 12 to 15 minutes.
04 - Stir together all sauce ingredients till smooth. Enjoy with your onion once it’s not piping hot.

# Notes:

01 - Let it sit in ice water to open up the petals better.
02 - Dry it off completely before adding any coating.
