Chocolate Oven Donuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chocolate Donuts

01 - 1 cup (125 grams) plain flour, gently measured
02 - 1/4 cup (22 grams) cocoa powder, unsweetened
03 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
04 - 1/8 teaspoon salt
05 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) buttermilk
06 - 1/2 cup (100 grams) white sugar
07 - 1 large egg, at room temp
08 - 2 tablespoons (30 grams) melted butter
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Chocolate Glaze

10 - 1 cup (120 grams) confectioners sugar
11 - 3 tablespoons (17 grams) cocoa powder, unsweetened
12 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
13 - 3-4 tablespoons (45 to 60 ml) milk, as needed

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a donut pan well with cooking spray and put it aside.
02 - Grab a big bowl and mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together until everything's combined.
03 - In another bowl, stir buttermilk, sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until they're fully mixed.
04 - Pour wet stuff into dry stuff and stir just until combined. Don't mix too much!
05 - Put batter into each donut hole, filling about 3/4 of the way to let them grow while baking.
06 - Stick them in the oven for 8-10 minutes. They're done when a toothpick comes out clean.
07 - Take them out and let them sit in the pan for 5 minutes. Then move them to a wire rack to cool all the way.
08 - In a bowl, combine confectioners sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and milk. Add more milk bit by bit if it's too thick.
09 - Dunk the tops of cooled donuts into the glaze and put them back on the rack. Add sprinkles now if you want them to stick.

# Notes:

01 - These oven-baked treats aren't as heavy as fried ones but still pack a punch of chocolate goodness.
02 - They taste best fresh but you can keep them in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
