Get water bubbling in a big pot with salt, then dump in your pasta. When cooking's halfway done, toss the icy peas into the same water. Cook everything about a minute under what the box says for a firm bite.

Warm up some oil in a wide pan on pretty high heat. Toss in your tiny chopped onions and bacon bits, cooking till they're crispy but watch they don't burn.

Strain the pasta and peas, then throw them in with your bacon-onion mix. Turn the heat down a bit and pour in your cream. Feel free to splash in more cream if it looks too dry.

Pop it straight onto plates while it's steaming hot, and let everyone sprinkle on cheese to their liking.
