Ground Beef Alfredo (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - One medium diced onion.
02 - Two garlic cloves, thinly sliced.
03 - A pound of ground beef.
04 - Two tablespoons olive oil.
05 - A third-cup of grated Parmesan.
06 - 8 ounces of fettuccine pasta.
07 - Half a cup of chicken broth.
08 - One third-cup white wine.
09 - Teaspoon of dried Italian herbs.
10 - Fresh parsley for garnish.
11 - Add salt and pepper as needed.
12 - A cup of heavy cream.
13 - One cup fresh mushrooms, sliced.

# Instructions:

01 - Drop pasta into boiling salty water, Cook till slightly firm, Scoop out 1 cup of the starchy water, Drain completely.
02 - Brown the ground beef after softening onions and garlic, Toss in mushrooms, Pour in wine to lift any browned bits, Add chicken broth and seasoning, Slowly mix in cream, Let simmer on low.
03 - Stir cooked pasta into the sauce, Sprinkle Parmesan and mix, Adjust with pasta water if it’s too thick, Finish with fresh parsley and season to your preference.

# Notes:

01 - Lower your heat when adding the cream to avoid curdling.
02 - More chicken broth can replace wine if you'd rather skip it.
03 - Using some of the pasta water gives your sauce an awesome texture.
04 - Swap out beef for ground turkey for a twist.
