Smothered Chicken Dinner (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 teaspoons minced garlic.
02 - 1 teaspoon poultry spices.
03 - 1 medium chopped onion.
04 - 1 teaspoon crushed celery seed.
05 - 1 tablespoon powdery onion seasoning.
06 - 1/4 cup cooking oil.
07 - 2 full cups chicken broth.
08 - 1 pound chicken thighs or drumsticks.
09 - 1 teaspoon paprika, smoked.
10 - 1 1/2 cup plain flour.
11 - 1 teaspoon black ground pepper.
12 - 1 tablespoon powdered garlic.
13 - 1 cup milk, whole.
14 - 1 teaspoon salt.

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly rinse your chicken.
02 - Combine flour with all the seasonings in a big bowl. Save a bit for making gravy later.
03 - Generously coat the chicken pieces in your seasoned flour mixture.
04 - Warm up the oil in a large skillet and brown the chicken until golden all over. Take it out when done.
05 - Toss onions into the same pan for 2 minutes. Then toss in garlic for another minute before removing.
06 - Sprinkle the saved flour into the pan drippings and stir. Slowly whisk in broth and milk until creamy.
07 - Return the chicken, garlic, and onions to the pan. Cover and let it simmer for 30-35 minutes, turning now and then.

# Notes:

01 - Don't crowd the chicken when browning it.
02 - Re-use the leftover seasoned flour for the gravy.
03 - Make sure to turn the chicken as it simmers.
