Candied Yams Slow Cooker (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1½ cups water.
02 - 4 lbs red garnet yams.
03 - 1 tablespoon molasses.
04 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
06 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
07 - ½ cup melted salted butter.
08 - ¼ teaspoon ground cloves.
09 - ⅛ teaspoon salt.
10 - 1½ cups brown sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the yams into thick 1-inch slices after peeling. Drop them into the slow cooker.
02 - Stir the water with cornstarch until fully combined. Add this, along with the butter, vanilla, molasses, salt, and seasonings, into the slow cooker.
03 - Set the lid on and don’t disturb for 4 hours while it cooks on HIGH heat.
04 - Once cooked, sprinkle in the brown sugar and stir gently to combine.

# Notes:

01 - Stays warm for 2-3 hours if left on the warm setting.
02 - Top with marshmallows as a finishing touch.
03 - Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
